Private equity is generating better returns than the public markets in almost every time horizon. They're doing it because there is a difficulty premium in both the buy and tho sell. So any private investment is going to take a lot of skill on the front end to get into the deal. You don't meet a guide at the country club and sell him your business, but an investment team that works well for you. It makes no sense to hire someone who claims they have proprietary deal flow or anything like that. Everyone knows if you have a giant company that's going to be bought for multi-billion dollars, don't do it. Choose wisely - choose companies with good people behind them not
