The biggest challenge is getting Python set up on your system. The data visualization libraries, no matter which one you choose, essentially are knowing how to call functions. I think there are a lot of things that Python can do from a data visualization perspective that are easier than trying to use Excel or some of the other tools in a traditional environment.
