The Power of Forgiveness

In the Bible, teachers mind, there's this paralyzed man and then there's God. And Jesus is just putting himself right here in the place of the priest and in the places of the temple and saying, you are forgiven. He's offering God's forgiveness as if it's his to offer. Do you see what Jesus is doing here? Now again, Matthew could have just written a story and just said, hey, dear reader, Jesus is Emmanuel, God with us. But he could say that, but what a boring book that would be to read, right?
