The Importance of Explaining Your Audience
I have read and a lot of other interviews you've said something like I didn't think this book was going to get published so that freed me up a lot while writing it. But there's also like a lot of I would say like gay cultural touchstones that you do take the time to explain. So I'm curious like at what point you decided to make sure to explain those things and who you were imagining your audience being when you were doing that. And I think my audience really shifted a lot throughout the book, which took me seven years - just like I just grew a lot as a human being in that time.
