When to Act on a Theory of AI?

The question is not when to act on a theory. If you have a problem, do you have a solution? In which case implement the solution. And if you don't have a solution, continue to be creative to come up with one. We'd need a specific example of people trying something that could cause or prevent huge misery. It sounds like this is the intellectuals' concern. The AI apocalypse is coming. That's what might be hinting at here. But AI solves a problem. I call the master problem the slowing of progress.
