The Importance of Sleeping With Mouth Open

In children sleeping with the mouth open, drooling and having trouble eating. Posturing of the mandible can also lead to hyperplastic maxillers which need expansion. These patients will sleep with their mouth open and try to protrude their mandible subconsciously so anteriorly. And although it does help the patient sleep that night, it's not ideal for teeth development.
