The Social War

Gaius Marius was made consul for the fifth time in a row in 100 BC. He would again fight alongside Sulla, his perennial lieutenant, now a general in his own right. The Social War would be the last time the two fought on the same side. Next week he would be pulled out of retirement to deal with the inevitable result of Roman mistreatment of Italian allies.
