Ziad: I believe that he was really interested in the perception of pain. This is a long standing medical problem where different races, so african american patients versus white patients, they express different s of pain for what seems like the same a condition. The experiment here is take two patients, one black and one white, whose knees look exactly the same to the radiologist, an of same degree of arthritus. Black patients, on average, will report more pain from nees that look the same. And i don't at all mean this in a majorative way.
