The idea of an artificial intelligence goes way, way back and we're talking 3000 years at that point. Well machine learning with the advent of computers from kind of Alan Turing and forward has been something that we as humans think we can actually grasp now. Now we've created very, very powerful chess games. So much so that on your computer you can hit the properties and say easy, easy medium, medium, hard like chess master level. Because they're trying to write in human error into this code so that the chess won't make the best move every single time because the system now knows how to do that.
