The Importance of Surrogacy in the UK

Sarah, you work within the surrogacy industry in the UK and have also been a surrogate mother yourself five times. Sarah: We were very pleased with the proposed reforms because the laws at the moment aren't fit for purpose. And overwhelmingly, surrogates in the UK didn't want legal parenthood of the children at birth. As surrogates, we don't wish to be financially, morally or legally responsible for children that aren't genetically ours.
