The History of Philosophy in the Islamic World

There are two significant periods of philosophy in the islamic world before avasenna and after evasena. Formative period, philosophers like al kindi and al farabi championed greek philosophical texts. Then avisa came along and changed everything. His self consciously original works had something to cont ute on nearly every major area of philosophy. He also found time to become the single most influential medical author of any mediaeval tradition after evisenna. The very language of philosophy became distinctively avisenin even in authors who opposed his ideas strenuously.
