The FBI's Counter Intelligence Program

Chomsky: Coentell Pro was the FBI's Counter Intelligence Program from 1956 to 1971. In 1968, J Edgar Hoover gave Co-Intell Pro an explicit mandate to quote prevent the rise of a black messiah that could collect and cohere black radical and activist groups across the country. He says any group with a primarily black membership was to in Hoover's mind, a black nationalist hate group.
