The Importance of Listening to the Science
If we're not dealing with the fundamental issue of what is driving the climate crisis and the source of our emissions, what is the point of these policies? It is pointless. Not even in terms of the safeguard, but if you ran on any kind of climate platform at the last election, you have an obligation to listen to the science. If Australians voted for climate action in 2022, saying that you're implementing some kind of obscure complex technical mandate is actually not fundamentally fulfilling that promise. I feel like it won't be the last time we talk about this. We're also launching a 30-second TV ad that explains how carbon offsets are fueling Australia's net zero fraud.
