SVC is a pure vena cava that drains blood from head, neck, upper extremity, chest, and back. So what happens when it gets compressed? It's not going to be able to drain well. If it's not draining well, then you can have facial and neck edema. That is kind of the most common presentation of SVC syndrome. But thankfully we don't see that in this patient.
