Is Light Pollution a New Problem?
A child born now in a place where you can see 250 stars would only be able to see 100 by the time they're 18. The Milky Way is basically impossible to see from even suburban areas, let alone in the center of cities. There are potential ways to get around this that have been trialed. But there's also the reverse argument, which is that with more efficient lighting, you can get away with having more of it for the same amount of power.
