The French Position on Taiwan

Justin Weiss: President Macron's remarks to the media on his way back from this trip have created a lot of grief in Washington, not just among Asia hands but also those who are frustrated with him. He says he doesn't think the French position has changed a bit and the European one is China is both a partner, a competitor and a strategic rival or a systemic rival.Weiss: The French policy itself on Taiwan, whether on the substance or on what France should do as not change.
