The Role of Ultrasound in Emergency Department MSK Injuries
There's no 100% exact answer as to the role of ultrasound in emergency department MSK injuries. There may be a role in some small subset of patients where your pretest probability is low or moderate, and you can't get follow up fast enough with your orthopedic surgeon. For like deeper structures, ACL, meniscal, it's not sensitive enough to make any sort of impact on it. So for those issues, I would say there's no role for ultrasound in that case.
