The Deindustrialization of Dallas
The Trinity River used to meander through the center of Dallas. Allen Steelman who ran for Congress in 1972, ran against the Trinity Canal. Voters rejected a referendum to spend their tax dollars on the canal. Rob Tranchon: The port of Dallas not only failed, but it stole the natural riverfront from the people of Dallas.
