Paul Nerega landed on the floor hard, dead weight, his head making a thick, cracking sounds it hit the bricks. I looked back at the corpse and sure enough there was a gaping hole where his left eye should have been. When had that happened? He certainly had both eyes when we had worked together and all ten fingers as well. The cops did come looking for me when they're bossed in return but I knew to lay low for a while.
