There is a wider ideological issue for many parts of Netanyahu's coalition, both with it is only good party. There are far right and religious parties who resent the very idea of there being a liberal-minded Supreme Court which can hold the government to account. And they're the ones who are egging this on - even when Netanyahu has been prepared to perhaps back down or delay the votes.
