How to Start a Diversified Business

I started looking into freelance writing, that was the first thing that I kind of came across and was interested in. Now the business is relying primarily on word of mouth. Came across a webpreneur that seemed to want to get back to people via email, but had a really hard time doing. And so I cold pitch him and said, Hey, if you need somebody, this is something that I could do for you. And he said, sounds good. We've been working together for like a year and a half now. Taking him on as a client was gave me the confidence to put in my notice at work because I knew I had X dollars and predictable income.
