The US's Opposition to the CBAM Mechanism
Europe is moving ahead with a carbon pricing system that the US wants to see work. India, China and others are opposing it in political venues and official trade venues like the WTO. The last year also saw Europe and the US intentionally try to move away from Russian energy supply. Russia cut supplies and as I said, we were at 40% of our total supply coming from Russia; now we are less than 10%.
