You're Never Going Back to Square One

The first thing you can really do to heal this tendency towards splitting behaviors and black and white thinking is to just become aware of it. You can't heal or change anything within yourself until you shine the light of conscious awareness on it. Ask yourself, where is polarized thinking showing up in your life right now? And how can you start to be mindful on a daily basis of any rigid or all or nothing thinking patterns that you display? Think about any tendency you might have to devalue people that you're hurt or angered by. When we stop thinking in terms of black and white, we can actually start making healthier decisions, not only in regard to others, but to ourselves.
