Sally Kohn: I think it's time to retire the poverty of the stimulus argument. We know that kids are really very good learners, they're excellent learners and can pick up on all sort of statistical and other kinds of regularities. She says computers have been able to build complex models of language acquisition without having innate linguistic knowledge. Kohn: This is an existence proof that here you have a learner, a silicon one, that can learn language and produce,. you know, very possible human text.
