Hollywood wasn't all that keen on older actresses or even actors, but certainly actresses. They were kind of put out to pass just sent off to television to play 'homely mums' But these films gave them something and I think it played into the fear young people had of old people. And actually, a movie I just watched for the first time for this series, Lady in a Cage with really, really, a little bit of happiness.
