What Happens After a General Election Defeat?

What Boris Johnson wants now is for Rishi Sunak to fail, and that means losing the next general election. If you're a Conservative MP, you might consider you owe something to Boris Johnson but if you're sitting on a small majority, you don't want to lose your job. So they're not really aligned. I think there is an interesting question as to what happens post a general election defeat and if RishiSunak went. But I have to say, whoever leads the Conservative Party, if they can possibly resist Boris Johnson coming back, would be wise to do so. He's coming back for one reason and one reason only, which is to take their job.
