What Deep Fakes Mean?

Is when it's, say, a voice manipulation or something in a different form, is that still what you'd consider a deep fake. I think een a lot of folks prefer to use like synthetic media, because it allows us to include the face swaps. And indeed, something like dale or imagine these tools we see that allow us to gen images based on texts. So we're sort of trapped by the word deep fakes nothing.
