Is Epicurus an Optimist?
Was epicurus an optimist precisely because he was afflicted? It is apparent that it was a whole cluster of grave questions with which this book burdened itself. Let us add the gravest question of all, what seen in the perspective of life is the significance of mortality? So you can see he has a highly elusive, somewhat dense way writing. He feels there should be things that science can't put into words, intuition, in coate feelings. Anitia basically feels that this is the heart of reality, this is theheart of life. And he calls it the dionysian spirit.
