Do You Think That if You Control the Search, You Control a Location of Rents in a Lot of Businesses?
I think we need to increase support for basic research in the country. But i don't think the state should be involved at all, particularly in the direction of that money. There is another dimension of research where the state also could be supported in funding and that's in applied research center. I always remind young faculty that our students here in the business school, their perfect competition is not their goal. This isn't the econ department. Their goal's to be a monopolist. That's what business people want to do.
