Temple of Doom: The Rise and Fall of the McGuffin

The thing about the McGuffin in this is that it's a person named Ox that everybody just talks about a lot. And we've never met him and don't know why we should care about him. Right. There's not really a cinematic shorthand for us to understand why we care about Ox. Like if he were related to one of the characters or if it were Marcus Brody or Salah or Henry Jones senior, orIf it were Marion, the thing is I feel like- Why don't you just reveal that it's Marion? Wouldn't it just have been Marion to begin with? Her name's Mary. Oh. The thing is they sacrificed so much for that dumb reveal
