Edward abby wrote out of the north fork there spitting distance from big fork. When that novel kind of didn't work out in a big way he called up mr shawn the new yorker editor and said i want to write about the great planes. He explained some of the stuff that would be in it you know and like but the buffalo or battle of the little big horn, things like that. Then Mr Shawn said would it be funny if 50 million buffalo wiped out? "I don't know is that funny" He then ended up doing it but that took me a long time - years and years to do did it.
