The Distrust of the Goodness of Sex
In the early church, there was a high emphasis on virginity and celibacy. The apocalypticism did not come back as expected. Modern day evangelicalism or modern day cares distrust things that look too Catholic. But it's weird that that part of monotonism didn't come back.
