The Tories and Labour's Debate on Education

There's not a substantial conversation about education happening between the Tories and Labour at the moment. That space has become very dominated recently by early years and child care. And there's a kind of big sort of empty spot where no one wants to say anything between about age five and age 16, where what you're being offered is extra maths. The great irony in here is here in conservative politicians extoll the wonders of numeracy. I mean, God knows from the 350 million a week on the NHS onwards, right? maths and sort of numerical rectitude has not been at the top of their minds, shall we say.
