The Battle of Dansig
With Dansig finally in French hands, Napoleon was ready to go back on the offensive. All his work finding replacements and reinforcements for the battered Grand Armée had paid a massive dividends. He now had a huge force of over 200,000 men at his disposal. The coming campaign would be much closer to the style of fighting the French were used to. However, Benigsen and the coalition army had also been reinforced, and they too would benefit from these slightly less punishing conditions. In fact, he too was planning a fresh offensive, and the coalition forces were able to launch theirs first.
