Introduction
This is part two of our two-part series on geriatric trauma with Barbara Haas, Brooke Tillman, and Camilla Wong. In young people, an isolated rib fracture is generally not a serious injury, but in older people, a couple of rib fractures can lead to death Not so uncommonly. There's a lot of pain associated with the rib fractures, and when the pain is sub-optically managed, this also leads to agitation and delirium. These are usually under-recognized, under-treated.
