The Black Sea and the Bridal Traditions

The idea of the husband coming to the home of the bride feels like it almost might be a holdover from those matri-local civilizations. The kidnapping of the brides feels like the tradition of the Indo-Europeans that sort of clashed with those old Europe matri- local civilizations. So when we hear these two different traditions of how bride and how marriages occur, it almost looks like these two traditions are now existing sort of simultaneously in the culture because they come from these different backgrounds. But this was already an ancient tradition, and it was just amplified, I think, during the time of the Mongols.
