Heather Cox Richardson, a historian and history professor at Boston College where she teaches 19th century American history. She's covered the Civil War reconstruction, the political forces surrounding the wounded knee massacre and the evolution of the Republican Party. Her most recent book, How the South Won the Civil War was released earlier this year.
