Piketty's Argument in Two Sentences for a Thousand Page Plus Book
Piketty's argument in two sentences for a thousand page plus book is that all societies have what he calls an inequality regime which justifies and maintains a particular level of inequality. And I think we wanted to engage with it as historians because this is really a history book. So in essence, he deserves our engagement as historians and not just as some kind of interloper from economics.
