The History of the Love Lock Cave
In 1912, archeologists from a University of California, Berkeley obtained 10,000 plus artifacts. They estimate that the earliest inhabited inhabitants were in the cave at least 4000 BC. The roof of the ceiling is charred black, which hearkens back to the legend of the fire. This entire region of Northwest Nevada was covered by a massive lake 12,000 years ago.
