A lot of how your culture conditions your emotions happens during development when you're a kid. It still happens now people are desensitized to violence all the time. If they'd stood at the feet of Jesus and watched him die they would not feel euphoric about it. I don't think anybody did until three days later. We live in a world where three and a bit billion people every day worship the image of a human being given the most painful and awful form of death that there is in recorded history.
