CHAPTER

The Distant Starlight Problem in Young Earth Discussions

Distant starlight problem is a debate about how images of events happening millions or billions of light years away get to us in just a few thousand years. One argument for why god would do this is because he wanted to create a universe with the appearance of age or maturity. Supporters of this idea argue that god created adam and eve as adults rather than babies, so he gave them turity from the start. But there would seem to be no reason for him to do the same thing for other aspects of the world. Like showing us an imaginary video in the year two thousand eight of a star blowing up 88 million years ago in a past that never happened. That doesn't make any sense.
