The Freedom of Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor began working with the American Red Cross during the First World War. When her husband FDR by then a prominent Democrat was struck down by polio in 1921 leaving him paralyzed and unable to walk unaided Eleanor began campaigning on his behalf. She became a campaigner for women's rights and refugees also the effects of racial segregation which she spoke out against a lot. If the women are willing to do things because it's going to help their neighbors I think we'll win out.
