Mr Pinto was offered a job by an employer who wanted to put him into debt. He refused the offer and continued teaching mathematics until he became a writer. His friend's wife told him she would type his letters for him if he didn't write them down. She typed 14 of Mr Pinto's short stories which were later published in newspapers.
