John Brown - Is He the Locus White Man of the 1800s?

I don't think he actually believed that aspect of Calvinism very strongly. He doesn't act like a guy who thinks everyone around him is going to hell. The core of what John Brown was was a respecter of human dignity and freedom. And his outrage at what was being done to blacks in America would be outrage at injustice, rather than any particular religious ideology.
