The Ideological Compulsion to Act in Technology
The Rotterdam system is not especially novel at all. This is definitely replicated and reproduced all over the place. There are so many examples of, you know, it might not be the exact same technology, but it is almost always the exact same ideological, like political basis and motivation for the technology. And that is exactly what I have found in a lot of my research on insurance. You see it in welfare. You seeit all over the places where these systems are designed to root out fraud. It's always based on extremely spurious, often idiosyncratic definitions of what fraud is or what fraud is constituted by of how fraud is calculated.
