W.C. Malar and the Winds
The solo violin plays the second big theme, while the clarinet and oboe seem to improvise around the spinning flute melody from the beginning. Here is a place where malar may almost seems to be quoted, inert, all things burn in the tawny hour. Two short outbursts going back to the chromatic scale emerge in the winds, with the harp playing glissandi or slides to emphasize the leaping nature of the fawn but they are for nothing.
