Dan Muser: Negotiators could choose to reform or otherwise audit these plans where there's a belief that the government is overpaying private insurance. And paying private insurers and drug companies. The president's own budget estimates that by simply negotiating drug prices with Medicare directly, that they could save up to $200 billion. Congress has never taken more revenue in terms of tax rates in the last 50 years over the average.
