The Importance of Open Source Software
Open source is one form of marketing awareness and brand development. Sometimes people need to release software as open source because it's the only way for them to demonstrate what they've created. The goal with Eclipse-Che wasn't to get a lot of end users with it, but to get contributors who were other software companies. We had Oracle and Microsoft, Software AG, SAP, Red Hat, IBM, we had a bunch of vendors who got involved.
