Anne Rice was their Bram Stoker right like you know a lot of young people would have read Anne Rice before they read Dracula for example. For better or worse I think Anne Rice sort of changed the vampire subgenre really with with stories like this right and portrayals of vampires like this. We've seen a bit of this in films already over the last 10 years or so leading up to this this idea of you know when you become a vampire you join a new sort of surrogate family almost that's very much Lost Boys"
