I'm not entirely convinced by the integrity of the concept of the PMC as a class. I think that working class people, and just people generally, don't make political decisions on that basis. The way in which you talk about climate politics is a politics of less,. It's frequently about making little personal sacrifices here and there. That's not going to resonate with ordinary people who already have very little. People expect politicians whom they know will make sacrifices for them to redeem them on a symbolic level. Voting for Trump, nobody's ever met a nation like this. At this particular point, let's say that Laconians would say that people actually enjoy making sacrifice through social relations and institutions
